Supporting Our Community Champions
90% of community-led park projects are driven by volunteers – our community champions.
They uncover the solutions their neighbourhoods need, which often require a variety of support to build their project from vision to fruition.
Parks Foundation’s programs focus on helping communities and groups achieve their hopes for their neighbourhood. Our programs help with stewardship of new and beloved community spaces that foster healthy lifestyle and enhance the well-being for all Calgarians.
Our programs offer critical services that help communities throughout project development – from administration and accounting services to fundraising support and grant initiatives.

This grant program provides seed money of up to $5,000 for working with a landscape architect to develop a concept to re-envision Calgary’s parks, pathways, and natural areas. Made possible by a generous donation from Mario Stella, a local businessman, philanthropist, and Rotarian who passed away in early 2013.
