Parks don’t just appear on a map. They are brought to life by community champions who transform empty lots into vibrant parks, worn-out playgrounds into lively gathering places, and neglected areas into thriving hubs all while contributing to environmental sustainability.
In 1985, Parks Foundation began with a visionary citizen, Terry Hawitt, who dreamed of a greener downtown. Since then, we’ve invested over $200 million into capital initiatives and supported hundreds of community-led park projects.

Donations with an email address provided will receive an electronic tax receipt issued by Parks Foundation as an agent of the City of Calgary. Donations without an email address will receive a mailed tax receipt only for amounts of $100 or more.
Giving By Check
To donate by cheque, please make your cheque payable to Parks Foundation Calgary and include your contact information so we can issue a tax receipt. Cheques can be mailed or delivered to our office; tax receipts will be provided according to our standard policy.
OTHER DONATIONS
You can make a non‑cash gift in many ways, including donating stocks or securities, naming Parks Foundation as a life insurance beneficiary, including Parks Foundation in your will, or giving through a donor‑advised fund. Please contact us to learn more.
